the hdr/hand-retouche tutorial | a view into my work

    high dynamic range image (emulation)

in photography, hdr is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas)

than normal digital/analogue imaging techniques. the intention of hdr is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found

in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows. a tripod is compulsive for making these pictures.

example on one of my pictures (vederea mea | romania|birthplace)

(one shoot picture, without any edit's | sigma sd9 + pol)

now making the exposure bracketing of the area (i made 16 pictures from -3 to +3)

all these pictres have to be merged to one picture (hdr)

photomatix pro is a good program for making this operation. you can read the informations on it how to operate the program,

it's relative simple. after merging it to one picture with the right settings, it is possible to use the tone mapping tool.

it makes sense to get more details, sharpness and color.

now we can see a big difference between the one shot image and the 16 shoots merged to hdr, in the details.

photo retouche with ps cs3 | plugin power retouche pro || handwork result

i like details, so i have to retouch a lot with hand. drawing outlines new/over (1-10px tools), give them more color(or changing),

highlights/shadows, blur and sharpness. i decide of the result, not the program. it is a long act to get this effect.

here are some raw chages > levels, color, curves, black and whie contrast (channels), manipulations, sharpering...
